Dear Burkett,

Many thanks for your S.32157/V/D.0.C.A. of the 6th February confirming the conversation that you had with Longhurst on Saturday last about Japanese views on the flying of aircraft near the Weichow Island.

We sent, yesterday, to Hong Kong and Bangkok the

following telegram:-

"Air Ministry confidentially advise us

urgently to avoid flying within 15 nautical milcs of heichow Island Tonking Gulf Hanoi Fort Bayard sector by day or hy night please inform all Captains concerned fullstop.
